Shoplifter makes off with meat and other merchandise at Aldi in Ocala

A shoplifter reportedly made off with meat and other merchandise at an Aldi store in Ocala.

A Marion County sheriff’s deputy responded to an Aldi located at 7579 SW 90th St. in reference to a retail grand theft, according to an incident report. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with the store’s manager who advised that three unknown subjects tried to steal store merchandise on Wednesday. The deputy then made contact with an eyewitness who advised she saw an unknown black female exit the store without paying for her merchandise.

The manager advised when he was notified of the theft, he went to and confronted the unknown black female subject who was with two other people described as a black male and a Hispanic female, the report stated. The manager advised he made contact outside the store and that the unknown black female subject told him that she thought she paid for it. When the manager took the store merchandise back into the store, he advised all three subjects left in a black car.

The unknown subjects attempted to steal a list of items worth over $400, which included two packages of baby back ribs valued at $19.80, four packages of pork spare ribs that totaled $47.53, 16 jumbo cooked shrimp valued at $111.84 and 12 packages of thick sliced bacon valued at $81.48.
