Garmin, Sunpass device stolen from vehicle at Ocala Palms

A Garmin and Sunpass device were reportedly stolen from a vehicle at Ocala Palms.

A Marion County sheriff’s deputy responded to a residence in Ocala Palms, in reference to a vehicle burglary, according to an incident report. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with the victim, who advised that a Garmin GPS and Sunpass device, valued at $240 together, had been stolen from his unlocked 1997 white, Dodge mini van, the report stated. The victim told the deputy that on Saturday around 3 p.m., he finished washing his vehicle in his driveway and forgot to lock the doors to his vehicle before going into his residence. He then advised that on Monday at around 7:30 a.m., he was leaving his residence and discovered that the driver’s side of his vehicle was slightly ajar, and that two items were missing from his vehicle. He also stated that around 1 a.m. on Monday, he was awoken by a strange sound, but believed it to be his ice maker in the kitchen.
