All three southbound lanes of Interstate 75 in Marion County were blocked Saturday afternoon after a semi-truck overturned.
The 2017 Volvo semi, driven by 47-year-old Phillip Duncan, of Millington, Tenn., was traveling south on I-75 when it veered off the roadway and onto the right grass shoulder. Duncan attempted to bring the truck back onto the paved shoulder but lost control, a Florida Highway Patrol report says.
The semi overturned and came to rest blocking all three southbound lanes. There were no injuries and no other vehicles were involved. Duncan was cited for failing to maintain his lane.
All three southbound lanes were reopened at 3:30 p.m., but as of late Saturday afternoon, traffic was still congested, an FHP spokesman said.
