Firefighters from Ocala Fire Rescue battled a blaze in the server room of an office building at Laurel Run Professional Park this past Wednesday morning.
Fire units were dispatched to the office complex, located at 2100 SE 17th St., at 6:09 A.M. after an employee reported smoke coming out of the building. When firefighters arrived a short time later, they encountered heavy smoke billowing from the roof on the west end of the complex.
Firefighters immediately cut two holes in the roof of the structure to help void the offices of smoke, decrease heat and increase visibility for those battling the blaze inside the building.
The flames were quickly extinguished and fire was completely out at 6:31 a.m. No injuries were reported and the cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
