A Fruitland Park man walking his daughter to a school bus stop was struck and killed Friday morning by a van in Ocklawaha.
Jeffrey “Todd” Kimberlin, 38, had been walking with his seven-year-old daughter at 7:21 a.m. on SE 180th Avenue Road when he was struck by a 2001 Ford van driven by 27-year-old Dylan Roberts of Ocklawaha, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol.
Roberts’ van had veered off the roadway and onto the shoulder before striking Kimberlin, the report said.
Kimberlin was transported to Ocala Regional Medical Center, where he later died of injuries suffered when he was struck by the van. The daughter was not struck and was reportedly uninjured.
Kimberlin was a well known local tattoo artist and many of his friends and clients were posting photos on social media of their tattoos done by him. He operated Pale Horse Tattoo in Ocklawaha.
Roberts was driving on a suspended license. He was booked at the Marion County Jail on a charge of driving while license suspended involving a death.
Roberts has previously been booked six times at the Marion County Jail.
