A coach at an Ocala elementary school called a school resource officer for help Thursday after an incident took place during a physical education class.
The resource officer at Shady Hill Elementary School, located at 5959 S Magnolia Ave., spoke with the coach, who told him that a student had punched another student in the face during class.
The resource officer, who is a Marion County sheriff’s deputy, then spoke with the student who had been hit. The deputy noticed a “reddish mark” on the side of his face and advised him to go see the school nurse.
The deputy also spoke with the student accused of throwing the punch and sent him to the dean’s office for possible disciplinary action, a sheriff’s office report states.
