A Marion County school bus with students onboard was involved in a minor traffic crash early Wednesday morning.
The bus, which was being driven by 71-year-old Louis Iva Archibald, of Ocala, had been traveling north on SE 190th Avenue when it stopped in the roadway after passing Sunset Harbor Road. A short time later, Archibald began backing up and the rear bumper of the bus struck the front of a 2016 Kia Sorrento driven by Bruce Robert Fisher, 56, of Eustis, causing minor damage, a Florida Highway Patrol report states.
There were four students and two staff members onboard the bus. Both Archibald and Fisher were wearing seatbelts. And there were no injuries reported.
Archibald was cited for improper backing, the FHP report says.
