Mildred Braun, 98 yrs old, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2019. She was born in Chicago, Illinois, October 14, 1918. She lived in Hoboken, New Jersey and Nicholson, Pennsylvania during the first half of her adult life with her first husband William “Sonny” McGuire who died tragically on the “farm” in Nicholson.
Millie, as she was lovingly called, made Ocala, FL her home for the past 25 years with her late husband Walter Braun. She was an active member of The Order Of The Eastern Star serving her community in many charitable endeavors. Amongst her favorite hobbies were her beloved bowling league, playing organ competitions, and Sunday night card parties.
She is survived by a large extended family of loving nieces and nephews as well as special friends who all loved her and will dearly miss her fun loving spirit. Her strength along with her fierce determination was impressive and beyond compare. She was and always will be an inspiration for all of us.
A Memorial Service will be held on January 19, 2019 at Roberts West Chapel, Ocala, Fl. The Gathering will be from 11:00-11:30 with Memorial Service to follow.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Hospice of Marion County, Legacy House, in memory of Mildred Braun.
