Pilot killed when ultralight glider crashes at Jumbolair Airport

A 56-year-old pilot was killed late Saturday afternoon when his ultralight glider crashed in Marion County.

Pilot Parrish Price, of Ocklawaha, was killed when this ultralight glider crashed at Jumbolair Airport in Anthony late Saturday afternoon.

Marion County sheriff’s deputies and crews from Marion County Fire Rescue responded to the crash site at Jumbolair Airport, located at 8857 W Anthony Road in Anthony. When they arrived on scene, they discovered that the glider had crashed near the runaway and the pilot, later identified as 56-year-old Parrish Price, of Ocklawaha, was dead.

The National Transported Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration have been notified of the crash and will be responding to investigate. Sheriff’s Major Crimes detectives will conduct the death investigation.

Deputies from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office and crews from Marion County Fire Rescue responded to the scene of an ultralight crash on Saturday afternoon.
