Ocala teen jailed after spotted on video throwing large rock at baby kitten

A 15-year-old from Ocala has been arrested after a video emerged in which he was seen throwing a large rock at a baby kitten.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office arrested 15-year old Isaiah Diehl for his primary involvement in the disturbing animal cruelty video that is currently circulating on social media. In the video, Diehl is seen throwing a large rock at a 3-4 month old female kitten, hitting her and causing traumatic injuries.

Isaiah Diehl has been taken into custody in connection with an attack on a baby kitten.

MCSO on Tuesday was made aware of the video in question by another juvenile who saw the video on SnapChat. During an investigation, another subject in the video was identified, and that person identified Diehl as the person throwing the rock at the kitten. MCSO deputies and Marion County Animal Control officers responded to the 2000 block of NW 40th Street and located the kitten, which had severe facial trauma and had difficulty walking.

Diehl turned himself in on Thursday afternoon. He is being charged with one count of aggravated animal cruelty, which is a felony. He is being held without bond in the Department of Justice Juvenile Detention Center.

Marion County Animal Services has custody of the kitten, and she is being treated for her injuries by their veterinary staff.

“It is truly disturbing that an individual would even think of doing something like this, and the suspect being a juvenile makes it even more shocking,” said Sheriff Billy Woods. “There is absolutely no justification for any form of cruelty to our animals, and we will always seek justice for our citizens and our little furry friends.”
