Woman ignores no-contact order and winds up back in jail on domestic battery charge

Janice M. Grosso

An Ocala woman who was just released from jail on a domestic battery charge stands accused of attacking the same man on Monday.

The victim told a Marion County sheriff’s deputy that Janice M. Grosso, 46, of NE 65th Avenue, scratched his head, grabbed his face and tore his shirt off him before fleeing. He said Grosso had just gotten out of jail and contacted him with no place to live. He allowed her to come back to the residence despite a no-contact order, a sheriff’s office report states.

The deputy observed a light scratch to the left side of the victim’s temple area and noted his white tank top was torn. A records search showed Grosso was released from the Marion County Jail on Jan. 31 and the no-contact order prohibits her from contacting the victim or going to the residence.

A few minutes after the deputy left, the victim called back to say Grosso had returned. By the time the deputy made it back to the residence, she was gone again. The deputy eventually caught up with her sitting behind a tree in a wooded area nearby.

Grosso eventually admitted that she knew she wasn’t supposed to be at the house. She was then charged with violating the conditions of her release on a domestic battery charge.

Grosso is being held in the Marion County Jail without bond and will face the charges in Marion County Court on April 9.
