Crews from Ocala Fire Rescue scrambled to reports of a structure fire on SW College Road on Saturday afternoon.

Crews from Ocala Fire Rescue responded to a fire at the Sagar Indian Grocery store on SW College Road on Saturday. The blaze, which had been extinguished by the time firefighters arrived, originated within standalone freezer units located in a storage area in the rear of the building at 3405 SW College Rd.

Three engines, a rescue unit and a battalion chief were called to the Sagar Indian Grocery store at 3405 SW College Rd. at 5:19 p.m. Upon arrival, crews were advised that the small blaze had been extinguished with a garden hose.

As firefighters assessed the scene, they discovered the fire had originated within standalone freezer units located in a storage area in the rear of the building. Crews ventilated the building and no injuries were reported.

Ocala Fire Rescue Engines No. 3, No. 4 and No. 6 handled the call, along with the crew of Rescue No. 4 and Battalion Chief No. 22. Officers from the Ocala Police Department also assisted in the incident.
