An 18-year-old Ocala man spent Sunday night in jail after a domestic dispute in which he allegedly threw a glass cup at a woman’s face.
The victim told a Marion County sheriff’s deputy that Hunter Todd Secki, of NW 38th Avenue, was angry she wouldn’t give him money and threw a small glass cup at her, hitting her in the face. She said she then picked up a plastic cup and threw it at Secki, hitting him in the stomach, a sheriff’s office report states.
The victim said Secki then followed her into her room and pushed down a small wicker dresser, causing one of the drawers to fall out and hit her on the knee. The deputy observed swelling under the victim’s eye, as well as some scratches to her right knee. He also saw a crack in the glass cup, liquid on the kitchen floor and the dresser emptied with the drawer still on the floor, the report says.
Secki told the deputy he was in an argument with the victim when she picked up a glass cup and threw it at him. He said he threw it back at her out of anger but didn’t intend to hit her in the face, the report says.
Secki said he followed the victim to her room to try to talk to her, and when she wouldn’t listen to him, he got mad and pushed down her dresser. He said he didn’t know it struck her and that was not his intention, the report says.
Secki was charged with battery and taken to the Marion County Jail, where he was released Monday on $500 bond. He’s scheduled to appear in Marion County Court on May 17.
