Marion County sheriff’s detectives identify homicide victim found at Ocala horse farm

Marion County Sheriff’s Major Crimes detectives have positively identified the victim of a homicide at an Ocala horse farm last week.

Major Crimes detectives from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office were called Thursday shortly after midnight to investigate the death of man who has been positively identified as 49-year-old Jesus Villagran-Estrada. Employees at the Classic Mile Park Training Center on W Hwy. 40 in Ocala found Villagran-Estrada’s body.

Jesus Villagran-Estrada, 49, was the victim of a shooting last Thursday at the Classic Mile Park Training Center, located at 13750 W Hwy. 40. Sheriff’s deputies had responded to the horse farm shortly after midnight after receiving a call about an employee finding a body there.

When deputies arrived, they discovered that Villagran-Estrada had been shot and his body was located in the area of Barn 56, a sheriff’s office report states.

Major Crimes detectives, forensic technicians and the Medical Examiner all responded to the location. The investigation is continuing and anyone with information on the incident is asked to call Detective Aaron Levy at (352) 368-3546.
