Semi-truck flips over after crashing through guardrail on I-75 in Ocala

The driver of a semi on Interstate 75 miraculously escaped injury early Friday morning when his truck crashed through a guardrail, flipped on its side and slid down the hill of an exit.

The driver of this semi escaped injury early Friday morning when his truck crashed just north of exit 352 on Interstate 75.

Ocala Fire Rescue units were dispatched to the incident, just north of exit 352, at 4:06 a.m. Engine 4, Rescue 4, Battalion Chief 22 and a safety officer arrived to find an 18-wheeler resting on its side and partially down the embankment of the exit’s overpass.
Due to a fuel leak caused by a rupture in the truck’s fuel tank, the state warning point was notified. An estimated 25 gallons of diesel poured into the area where the truck came to rest.

The Ocala Police Department, the Florida Highway Patrol and Marion County Fire Rescue also responded.
