Justin Matthew Klemm, 36, of Dunnellon, had been at the wheel of 2005 Chevy Cobalt at 5:40 p.m. on State Road 40 one mile east of SW 140th Avenue when his car traveled partially off the roadway onto the south grass shoulder of SR-40 before rotating counterclockwise and traveling into the oncoming westbound travel lane, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol.
His vehicle struck a 2012 Chevy Silverado driven by a 78-year-old Dunnellon man. That man, who has not been identified pending notification of next of kin, died at the scene of the crash. Klemm and a passenger, 33-year-old Brandin Drew MccCoy of Dunnellon were also pronounced dead at the scene by Marion County Fire Rescue.
Two passengers in the Silverado were critically injured and transported to Ocala Regional Medical Center. They were a 57-year-old man and a 54-year-old woman. Neither has been identified pending notification of next of kin.
The report noted that Klemm and the man driving the Silverado had not been wearing their seatbelts.
