Third victim of fatal Marion County crash identified by Florida Highway Patrol

The third victim of a multiple-fatality crash in Marion County on Saturday has been identified.

Gerita S. Waymire, 78, of Dunellon, died at the scene of the crash, which took place on State Road 40 about one mile east of SW 140th Avenue. Justin Matthew Klemm, 36, and his passenger 33-year-old Brandin Drew McCoy, both of Dunnellon, also were killed in the crash.

Florida Highway Patrol investigators say the crash took place about 5:40 p.m. on Saturday when a 2005 Chevy Cobalt driven by Klemm traveled partially off the roadway onto the south grass shoulder of SR-40 before rotating counterclockwise and traveling into the oncoming westbound travel lane.

Klemm’s vehicle struck a 2012 Chevy Silverado driven by Gerita Waymire. Two passengers in her vehicle, 54-year-old Carolyn Annette Waymire and 57-year-old Michael Eugene Waymire, both of Dunnellon, were critically injured and transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center, the FHP report says.

The report noted that neither Klemm nor Gerita Waymire had been wearing their seatbelts.
