Summerfield man nailed again for driving with suspended license

A Summerfield man is in the Marion County Jail after being charged Sunday night with a second offense of driving with a suspended license.

At around 10 p.m., a Marion County sheriff’s deputy observed a black 2004 Toyota Camry stopped at the intersection of County Road 484 and State Road 200 in Ocala. A records search of the license tag number revealed the owner’s license was suspended, according to the sheriff’s office report.

The deputy pulled over the vehicle at 8500 block of SW County Road 484 and spoke to the victim, Justin Albert Hilson, 34, of 8611 SE 159th Place. Hilson told the deputy he doesn’t have a valid driver’s license, and that his license was suspended for a DUI that was later reduced to a reckless driving charge involving alcohol, the report said.

A further search of records confirmed Hilson’s license was suspended in February 2014, and that he had a prior conviction for driving with a suspended license in July 2016. Hilson was arrested and taken to jail without incident. He’s scheduled to appear in Marion County Court on July 18.
