Clinic offering free dental, eye, and medical exams to uninsured residents

An Ocala Clinic will offer free dental, eye, and medical exams and prescriptions this month to uninsured, underinsured, and low-income residents as part of a monthly series.

FreeD.O.M. Clinic USA, in collaboration with the UF College of Dentistry and Ocala Eye, will host residents at Oakcrest Baptist Church (1109 NE 28th St.) on June 8 to offer a variety of services including:

Dental – Cleaning, Filling or Extraction

Eye care – Prescriptions or Reading Glasses

Medical – General consultations and limited prescriptions

The clinic will hand out admission tickets the day before the event on Friday, June 7, starting at 6:00 p.m. at Oakcrest Baptist Church.

The event is limited to the first 120 patients for dental and the first 40 patients for eye care. Because of demand, each patient should plan to spend 4 to 6 hours on premises.

The clinic is asking those that plan on attending to avoid smoking on the day of the treatment, and is encouraging anyone with diabetes or high blood pressure to take normal medication.
