Running of the Donuts this Saturday

The Seventh Annual Running of the Donuts will take place this Saturday, June 8, starting at 7:30 a.m. at 4255 SE 58th Ave. The event will feature separate 5k races for those interested in eating donuts and those looking to run the race without consuming donuts.
After running 1.5 miles, those that sign up for the donut run will eat  6 donuts, before running the remaining 1.5 miles. The race without donuts takes place 45 minutes before the donut run.
Additionally, those that want to take the “challenge” can run the open 5k, then come back for the donut run. The fastest combined time in the 5k and donut run, will win the challenge.
For those that want to participate in the donut eating portion and only run half the distance, a Donut Run Relay will enable participants to run 1.5 miles, eat 3 donuts, and have a partner complete the rest of the 5k.
The 5k run without donuts will begin at 7:30 a.m., while the Donut Run will begin at 8:45 a.m. The cost of the 5k run is $20, while the Donut Run is $25. The Donut Run Relay is $20 per person, and the Donut Challenge (i.e., the 5k run and the Donut Run) is $30. Late registration will add $5.
