If you’re looking for a wide variety of sushi, hibachi, and bento boxes to satisfy your palette, Sushi Bistro of Ocala should be near the top of your list of options.
Located in downtown Ocala (18 SE Broadway St), the restaurant is situated on the main square, a couple doors down from Harry’s Seafood, Bar & Grille.
The menu showcases modern Chinese-American and Japanese-American favorites. Appetizers range from krab rangoon, gyoza, and agedashi tofu, to edamame and miso soup.
Bento boxes, which are a staple in Japanese cuisine, traditionally include rice or noodles, fish or meat, cooked vegetables, and a soup. The restaurant offers a collection of bento boxes with meats cooked with either teriyaki or katsu.
Perhaps best known for its sushi, the variety the restaurant offers is extensive, with nearly six dozen options including classics like spicy tuna roll and salmon roll, as well as more specialized options like the downtown roll, which features shrimp tempura, cucumber, asparagus, tuna, salmon, yellowtail, avocado and krab.
The sushi is prepared with fresh ingredients and the rolls start as low as a few dollars, with most falling between $7 and $12.
There are a variety of tempura dishes, fried rices, and hibachi dinners and all items on the menu can be ordered online through the restaurant’s website.
The restaurant is open Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., staying open until 10:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. It opens at 12 p.m. and closes at 9:30 p.m. on Sunday. Although they do not offer delivery, their menu is also available for delivery through Bite Squad.
