Joint traffic enforcement operation nets multiple arrests in Ocala

Deputies from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office teamed with officers from the Ocala Police Department recently for a traffic enforcement initiative called “Operation Brotherhood.”

The law enforcement agencies worked together on Friday, June 7 to conduct the proactive traffic enforcement operation in Ocala. It was designed to address traffic violations, as well as to located people who were wanted on warrants.

All told, 132 traffic stops were conducted, resulting in 30 arrests and 52 criminal charges. Deputies and officers also issued 101 warnings, 21 traffic citations and three notices to appear (criminal). And one firearm was recovered, along with numerous illegal narcotics and drug paraphernalia.
