Six escape unharmed from burning Silver Springs Shores home

Six people escaped from a burning home in Marion County earlier this week.

Flames and heavy smoke were coming from a Silver Springs Shores residence in the 6900 block of Hemlock Road when firefighters arrived this past Monday afternoon.

Crews from Marion County Fire Rescue this past Monday were called to a structure fire in the 6900 block of Hemlock Road in Silver Springs Shores. Firefighters from Engine 17 arrived on scene at 2:18 p.m. to find flames and heavy smoke coming from the residence.

All told, four engines and 21 firefighters were dedicated to battling the blaze, which still is under investigation.
