Ocala Health named ‘Business Partner of the Year’ by Public Education Foundation

Ocala Health was named the 2019 Business Partner of the Year by the Public Education Foundation of Marion County this past month.

Ocala Health received the honor in Orlando at an invitation-only event hosted by Florida’s Commissioner of Education, Richard Corcoran. The award recognizes the valuable contributions that local businesses and organizations make to increase the importance of education and successful partnerships.

Ocala Health raises dollars for Take Stock in Children scholarships by sponsoring the annual Sneakers & S’mores 5k. The organization also participated in the Superintendent’s Literacy Festival, Safe Halloween Night and provided lunch for all Marion County teachers during Teacher Appreciation Week.

Ocala Health serves as the official School Business Partner of West Port High School and provides a representative who serves on the School Advisory Council, providing guest speakers for Health Occupations and College and Careers classes, hospital beds and supplies to the Health Occupations classes, job shadowing opportunities to Health Occupations and Global Logistics students, and holding an Art Gallery Night for students in the Visual Arts programs.
