Door-slamming Ocala woman jailed after spat with juvenile relative

Selena Marie Tucker

A 20-year-old Ocala woman was arrested after a nasty spat with a juvenile family member.

Selena Marie Tucker was charged with simple domestic battery after the incident, which happened Monday night at her residence on Hemlock Court Pass. A Marion County sheriff’s deputy responded to the home on Tuesday at the request of a Department of Children and Families investigator who had been contacted by the victim, according to the sheriff’s office report.

The victim had a large bruise on her arm that she said was caused when Tucker struck her multiple times. The victim’s parents said they were alerted to the incident by a loud argument, but they didn’t witness the altercation. Both parents said when they entered the victim’s room, Tucker and the victim were already separated, the report said.

The victim told the deputy she was trying to get Tucker to look at her new dyed hair and was upset that Tucker wasn’t paying attention. She said she went into her room and accidentally slammed the door. She said Tucker came into her room and told her not to slam the door, but then Tucker slammed the door on the way out of the room, according to the report.

The victim said she called Tucker a hypocrite, and Tucker turned around, said “I’ll show you a hypocrite,” and struck her multiple times on her back. The victim said she kicked towards Tucker to try and get her to stop and was pulled off the bed by her arm and her shirt. The victim said she was struck multiple times and believes the bruise on her arm was the result of being struck by Tucker, but she wasn’t sure, the report said.

Tucker said she struck the victim multiple times with her fists in what she described as a playful manner while the victim was lying on the bed. She said the victim started to kick her and struck her with her fists multiple times during a mutual altercation. Tucker said she then tried to get the victim to the ground to restrain her and calm her down. She showed the deputy a small bruise above her knee she believed was from the altercation, according to the report.

Tucker was taken to the Marion County Jail, where she was released Wednesday on $150 bond. She’s scheduled to appear in Marion County Court on July 18.
