22-year-old Ocklawaha woman arrested after nasty spat in vehicle

Brittany Seitz

A 22-year-old Ocklawaha woman was arrested on a domestic battery charge Wednesday night after she allegedly punched a man while making him get out of her vehicle.

The victim told a Marion County sheriff’s deputy that he and Brittany Seitz were arguing while in the vehicle at the 3200 block of South Pine Avenue in Ocala. He said as the argument escalated, Seitz screamed at him to exit the vehicle. He said as he got out, she struck him in the head with a closed fist, according to the sheriff’s office report.

The deputy observed a small cut above the victim’s right eyebrow, along with redness around the cut. The victim said the cut was caused by the victim’s ring, which has an embedded clear stone, the report said.

The deputy responded to Seitz’s home on SE 180th Avenue Road in Ocklawaha, where she admitted that she argued with the victim but denied she struck him. She said, “I may have pushed him, but I didn’t hit him.” The deputy observed Seitz was wearing a ring that matched the description the victim gave, according to the report.

Seitz was taken to the Marion County Jail, where she was released Friday on $5,000 bond. Her next appearance in Marion County Court is scheduled for Aug. 7.
