Elusive wheelchair-bound man jailed on trespassing charge

Noah L. Bryant

A wheelchair-bound homeless man was charged with trespassing at a gas station off Interstate 75 in Reddick.

The shift manager at the Petro at 7401 W. Hwy. 318 told a Marion County sheriff’s deputy on Tuesday night that the man has been evading deputies for years when they respond to trespass him. He said the man will hide between tractor trailers and somehow come and go from the property undetected, according to the sheriff’s office report.

The deputy spotted a man in the wheelchair quickly rolling through the parking lot to get off the property without being spotted. After being stopped, the man was identified as 63-year-old Noah L. Bryant. A records search showed a past trespass warning from the store, the report said.

Bryant was taken to the Marion County Jail, where he’s being held on $500 bond.
