Four transported to Ocala hospital after tow truck collides with compact car

Four victims were transported to an Ocala hospital after a tow truck collided with a compact vehicle on Friday morning.

Two adults and two children were transported to an Ocala hospital on Friday morning after a crash at the intersection of NE 36th Avenue and NE 14th Street shortly after 9:30 a.m.

Crews from Ocala Fire Rescue responded to the crash at the intersection of NE 36th Avenue and NE 14th Street shortly after 9:30 a.m. When they arrived, they found a heavily damaged gold Hyundai Sonata facing south on NE 14th Street and a blue and white tow truck facing east, a report states.

Two adults and two children were still inside the Hyundai. The two adults had to be extricated from the front seats, while the two children were in the back seat, the report says.

All four were victims in the Hyundai were transported to an Ocala hospital for treatment and their conditions weren’t yet known. Neither the driver nor the passenger in the tow truck were injured.

Units from the Ocala Police Department and Marion County Fire Rescue also responded to the crash, the report says.
