Ocala Golf Club to participate in ‘World’s Largest Golf Outing’ benefitting Fisher House

The Ocala Golf Club will host and participate in the World’s Largest Golf Outing (WLGO) annual event this year on August 5 to benefit The Fisher House Foundation.

The event is being held simultaneously at 100 golf courses across the United States. Last year, the organization’s efforts raised $400,000 for the foundation.

The Fisher House Foundation is a non-profit best known for a network of comfort homes where military and veterans’ families can stay at no cost while a loved one is receiving treatment.

“We as business owners and customers at businesses are asked consistently to open our pocketbooks up to a cause. I like that a donor can see where donations are going and can trust that their monies are going to families that stay at the Fisher House,” said Ocala Golf Club general manager Jason Lenhart in an email.

The WLGO event is an 18-hole, four-person team scramble format. The registration fee includes a $10 per player donation, greens fee, shared cart, warm-up bucket, lunch, local prizes, and awards ceremony following play.

Register for the World’s Largest Golf Outing here.

Once registration is complete, each team will be provided a personalized Team Fundraising Page that can be shared with family, friends, and colleagues to procure donations for the cause.
