Popular podcasters, radio hosts release children’s book with uplifting message

A couple of local radio hosts that run a popular child’s podcast have recently published a children’s book with an uplifting message.

Larry Whitler and Robin MacBlane, who operate WOCA (The Radio Source, FM 96.3) from the Paddock Mall, have released a new book for children titled “You Count, I Count.”

The book, which includes illustrations by the authors themselves, is geared at teaching readers the importance of self-worth through Robin and The Giant, characters made popular by Whitler and MacBlane through their podcast.

The duo has spent decades as songwriters and authors, penning songs with deeper messages of “self-worth, confidence, and self-esteem,” according to a press release. Their children’s podcast, “Storybook Railroad,” focuses on stories that boost confidence and reinforce the nurturing power of embracing others with respect.

“In an age when condescending comments are carelessly being tossed about it is refreshing to find a simple tale that reminds both children and adults alike that we are all important,” says the authors.

“You Count, I Count” is available wherever books are sold, including through the Robin and The Giant website.
