Georgia sex crimes fugitive nabbed while working at Ocala fast-food eatery

Kendrick Berry

An Ocala man wanted on warrants for sex crimes in Georgia left the chicken fast-food restaurant where he worked in handcuffs Tuesday morning.

An Ocala Police officer was told that 34-year-old Kendrick Berry was employed at the Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen, located at 1713 S Pine Ave. in Ocala. He was wanted on Georgia warrants for two counts of child molestation and one count of aggravated child molestation, an Ocala Police report states.

The officer went to the Popeyes restaurant in plain clothes and spotted Kendrick. He was taken into custody as he was leaving the eatery and was transported to the Marion County Jail and booked as a fugitive from justice. He was being held on no bond and is awaiting extradition.
