Ocala woman jailed after being nabbed at motel on trespassing charge

An Ocala woman found herself behind bars early Wednesday morning after guests at a local motel complained about her being there.

A Marion County sheriff’s deputy was called to the Queen’s Gardens Resort, located at 3340 S Pine Ave. in Ocala, around 12:45 a.m. after 25-year-old Lindsey Marie Orozco was spotted in one of the rooms. She had been trespassed from the motel in the past and wasn’t supposed to be on the property.

Lindsey Marie Orozco, 25, was arrested Wednesday after she was caught trespassing at the Queen’s Gardens Resort, located at 3351 S Pine Ave. in Ocala.

When the deputy knocked on the door to the room, Orozco opened the curtains to look outside and then quickly closed them. The deputy then spoke with a man who opened the door, stepped outside and confirmed Orozco was in the room. She then stepped out of the bathroom and was detained, a sheriff’s office report states.

The motel’s manager provided the deputy with a copy of the original trespass warning, which had been issued on July 12, 2018. Orozco was then transported to the Marion County Jail, where she was charged with trespassing. She was released late Wednesday afternoon on $1,000 bond and her next court date hasn’t yet been set, jail records show.

Orozco is no stranger to the Marion County legal system, having been held in the jail four times since July 2016. During those arrests she’s faced charges mostly associated with operating a motor vehicle without a valid driver’s license.
