Walter P. (Jeff) Jefferson

Walter P. (Jeff) Jefferson

Walter P. (Jeff) Jefferson, June 27, 1931 – July 19, 2019, was born in Ocala Florida. He is the son of Paul and Daisy Jefferson, the Grandson of Benjamin and Phyllis Jefferson, the Great Grandson of Ishmael and Lillie Jefferson and the Great Great Grandson of Henry and Peggy Jefferson.

Jeff married Lula A. Breedlove of Bainbridge, GA, but unfortunately this union ended after 38 years and no children. However, he had the privilege of fathering two sons; Armand and Terrence Jefferson.

Joining the United States Air Force June 14, 1949, allowed him to further his education and receive many awards as a noted and sought after Subject Matter Expert in the field of Inventory Management. As Stock Records Specialist, he revamped an antiquated supply tracking system saving the Air Force countless dollars and manpower. He was promoted to Inventory Management Superintendent where he created cohesiveness between five different Supply sections, resulting in the base winning two of the Air Forces’ Best-Seen-To-Date awards. Jeff retired from the Air Force July 31, 1969.

After retiring from the Air Force, Jeff relocated to Miami, FL to be closer to family. He was employed with the U.S. Postal Service and after 21 years of honorable service he retired October 2, 1992, receiving praise and appreciation from the United States Postmaster.
He later relocated his residence to Ocala, where he joined and served at the family church, Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church.

Jeff was preceded in death by his parents Paul and Daisy Jefferson; brothers Beverly, Connie, Willie and Lonnie; sisters Betty Jefferson Cobb and Jerilean Jefferson; step-sisters Ethel Small and Louella Leahmon.

Jeff leaves to lament his passing two sons; Armand and Terrence Jefferson; several grandchildren; one brother Robert Jefferson; a sister-in-law Estella Jefferson; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
