Video shows Dunnellon woman brandishing knife during dispute

Rachel Elizabeth Hill

A Dunnellon woman was captured on video brandishing a knife during a dispute with her boyfriend and a woman he asked to record their interaction.

Rachel Elizabeth Hill, 27, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill after the incident, which happened Sunday evening at the residence she and the victim shared on SW 181st Court.

Hill told a Marion County sheriff’s deputy she had an argument with her boyfriend and was at the home to retrieve her belongings. When she arrived, she saw the victim recording her interaction with her boyfriend, according to the sheriff’s office report.

Hill said she became angry when she saw the victim recording and started yelling for her to get out of the house, but her boyfriend told the victim to stay and continue recording. Hill said this made her even more enraged and she grabbed a knife, pointed it at the victim and told her again to leave. She said she didn’t chase the victim with the knife at any point, the report said.

The victim showed the deputy a video recording of the incident. The video showed Hill entering the house very irate. When she saw the victim, she became even more irate and told the victim and her 11-year-old daughter to “get the (expletive deleted) out of the house,” according to the report.

The video then shows Hill and her boyfriend go into the bedroom with the door open as the victim recorded from outside the room. Hill says, “Get the (expletive deleted) out of my house, you and your daughter, or I am going to beat your ass.” The victim then says, “You will not touch my daughter,” the report says.

The video then shows Hill go to the kitchen, grab a knife from a drawer and start walking towards the victim in an aggressive manner while pointing the knife at her and screaming, “Get the (expletive deleted) out. Hill’s boyfriend jumped in front of her to keep her from reaching the victim with the knife. The victim continued to retreat towards the front door and eventually outside, where she fell off the front steps, according to the report.

The victim said she was afraid Hill was going to hurt her with the knife. She said her daughter left the residence before Hill took the knife out of the drawer. The victim’s daughter said her mother told her to leave the house as Hill became angrier, but she did observe Hill’s behavior during the situation, the report said.

Hill’s boyfriend said he asked the victim to be at the home and record the encounter because he was afraid Hill would get out of control and accuse him of doing something to her. He said Hill didn’t agree with the victim being in the residence and became angry. He said Hill grabbed a knife and was approaching the victim in an aggressive manner, to the point where he had to get between them to keep Hill from hurting the victim, according to the report.

Hill was taken to the Marion County Jail, where she remained held Monday on $1,000 bond. She’s scheduled to appear in Marion County Court on Sept. 3.
