UF/IFAS hosting ‘Locally Grown’ series to promote healthy Florida lifestyle

UF/IFAS is hosting a health series to promote healthy Florida lifestyles at the Marion County Extension Service (2232 NE Jacksonville Rd) on Tuesday, August, 20 from 5 – 7 p.m.

The series, entitled “Locally Grown in Marion County,” will make connections between the health benefits, economics, and social values of locally grown food to improve overall wellness.

The program consists of three sessions:

  • Tuesday,  Aug 20 – Introduction to Healthy Florida Lifestyle
  • Tuesday, Sept 17 – Florida Water and Florida-Friendly Landscaping               (field trip to Silver Springs State Park)
  • Tuesday, Oct 15 – Wellness and Sustainability

The registration price of $15 per person includes all three sessions.
