Heavy rains, flooding force small stretch of U.S. Hwy 441 to one lane

A stretch of U.S. Highway 441 near Optimum RV in Ocala is down to one lane after being flooded with rain.

The southbound lane, which is just north of U.S. Hwy 441’s intersection with SE 80th St/CR 328, has been blocked off by barriers and road signs warning drivers of the hazardous conditions.

Ocala-News.com was first notified of the flooding on Thursday afternoon, after a user shared photos of the road hazard while passing through.

The water level has been worsened by continuous rains in recent days, consuming a fence and sign that sits across from the roadway at Optimum RV.
