Ocala woman arrested after swollen guy pal claims she attacked him with hammer

Cecelia Graham

An Ocala woman was jailed Sunday afternoon after a man claimed she attacked him with a hammer.

A Marion County sheriff’s deputy was called to a home this past Friday on NW 58th Court and when he arrived, the man told him that he had been driving 39-year-old Cecelia Graham’s vehicle when she had asked him to return it.

The man claimed that when he arrived with the vehicle, Graham became “verbal” with him and as he was trying to leave, she hit him with a hammer – twice in his left knee and once on his left shoulder. The deputy noted that the man’s knee was swollen but didn’t observe any swelling on his left shoulder, the report says.

The deputy attempted to locate Graham at her home in the 5800 block of NW 2nd Street but she wasn’t there. So, he returned Sunday and after being read her rights, Graham admitted to being in a verbal confrontation with the man regarding her vehicle. But when asked about his claims that she hit him with a hammer, Graham didn’t comment, the report says.

Graham was taken into custody and transported to the Marion County Jail, where she was charged with aggravated domestic battery with a deadly weapon. She was released late Monday morning on $500 bond and is due in court on Sept. 24 at 9 a.m. to answer to the charge.
