First Friday Art Walk returns Friday, Sept 6

The First Friday Art Walk returns to downtown Ocala for the 2019-2020 season Friday, Sept. 6 from 6 to 9 p.m. and will include the following special performances and activities: 

  • 6 to 9 p.m. – Live music by Mwiza Simfukwe on the main event stage.
    • Peruvian Folk dancing performances during Intermissions at 7:00 p.m. & 8:00 p.m. by the Raymi Dance Company.
  • 6 to 9 p.m. – 98.5 KTK, the Discovery Center, the Appleton Museum of Art, the Ocala Chippers, and the Marion County Public Library, will provide free, hands-on art activities and demonstrations for all ages.

For the month of September, the First Friday Art Walk is partnering with Marion County Public Schools to collect the following art supplies for middle and high school students: construction paper (all sizes and colors), markers, drawing pencil sets, acrylic paints, and brushes. The First Friday Art Walk occurs from 6 to 9 p.m. on the first Friday of each month from September through May annually. Located within Ocala’s historic downtown, event festivities include over 30 artist displays, live entertainment, free family art activities and extended shopping hours.
