Firearms found and heavy odor of marijuana reported at Ocala home after shooting incident

Ocala Police officers investigated a shooting Sunday at a residence where multiple firearms were found and the smell of marijuana was noticeable.

Officers were called to an Ocala home in the 1200 block of NW 13th Street at about 1:30 a.m. and when they arrived, they discovered numerous shell casings lying in the roadway. During a canvas of the neighborhood, it also was discovered that multiple rounds hit a home and vehicles in the area, a police report states.

Officers reported that a heavy odor of marijuana was coming from the home that was hit by the rounds of ammunition. Shell casings and a stronger smell of marijuana were found once inside the residence during a check for victims. A search warrant was obtained and detectives discovered multiple items within the residence, include the weapons, the report says.
