Ocala man killed in three-vehicle crash that sends four others to area hospitals

A 45-year-old Ocala man was killed Sunday afternoon in a three-vehicle crash in Marion County that also injured four other people.

The crash occurred when a 2001 Honda Accord being driven by Pablo Ismael Fernandez collided with a 2015 Jeep Renegade driven by 58-year-old Eddie Lee Woodard, of Jacksonville, at the intersection of NW 95th Street and U.S. Hwy. 441, a Florida Highway Patrol report states.

After the initial collision, both vehicles traveled through the center grass median and into the southbound lanes of U.S. 441. Fernandez’s vehicle was then hit by a 2009 Chevy Malibu driven by 28-year-old Monica Ann Miller, of Ocala, the FHP report says.

Fernandez was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Woodard and a passenger in his vehicle, 61-year-old Angela Delores Cabell, were transported to Ocala Regional Medical Center with serious injuries. Miller and her passenger, Amy Pickens, were transported to AdventHealth Ocala hospital with serious injuries.

The crash remains under investigation and it hasn’t been determined if alcohol was a factor, the FHP report says.
