Susan Lynette Davis, February 25, 1965 – August 31, 2019, affectionately called Sue was born to Ora Le Harris and James Leroy Davis, Sr. who preceded her in death. Sue was raised by her paternal grandparents who also preceded her in death. The late Mary Aliese and Leroy Davis, in the Boardman Community. She was also preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Mary Bell Climpson.

Sue was loved by many family members and friends. Her home was an open door to many in need. She didn’t turn anyone who needed her help. She had a very generous and giving spirit. Sue was the matriarch of her family of five children and her grandchildren. They were well loved and cared for by Susan. Her home was the hub for children, grandchildren, family, and friends.

She attended elementary and high school in Marion County, graduating from North Marion High School in 1983. She along with cousins, who were raised with her, Janet, Belinda, Steve, and James, attended Zion Bethel Missionary Baptist Church where she was baptized.

After finishing high school, Sue traveled to Heidelberg Germany to reside with her father James and wife Ruth Davis. There she worked as a Secretary for the U. S. Government GirlScout program for a number of years.

She returned stateside and attended Santa Fe Community College and worked as a Secretary at the University of Florida.

Susan leaves to cherish fond memories her children, Derone Davis, Tyler Davis, Keenan Davis of Orange Lake, FL, Justice Davis of Boardman, FL and Kailah Davis of Ocala, FL; nine beloved grandchildren. She will be sorely missed by her mom, Ruth Davis; siblings: Derrill (Tamara) Davis of Gainesville, FL, James (Jennifer) Davis of SanAntonio, TX, Aliese (Baha) Baskir of New Orleans, LA, Roderick Smith of Gainesville, FL, and Carol (Stanly) Richardson of Gainesville, FL,; aunt: Carrie (Eugene)Stokes of Gainesville, FL; uncles: Wilbur Davis of Boardman, FL, and Willie George (Petra) Davis of Baker, LA; great aunts: Carolyn (Earnest) Waites of Virginia Beach, VA, Rosemary Christy and Patricia Mann both of Gainesville, FL, Betty (Willie) Martin of Micanopy, FL, Maggie S. Waler of Washington, DC; great uncles: Jimmy Walker of Laurel, MD, Jessie James Davis of Gainesville, FL, Robert Warren of Neptune, NJ, and Jimmy Sheffield of Ruffin, NC; best friend: Leanette Simmons of Gainesville, FL; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and sorrowing friends.
