Local oncology institute calling artists affected by cancer to participate in night of poetry, art

A local oncology institute is calling for local artists affected by cancer to participate in a night of poetry and art at their Ocala location

The event will be held on Thursday, September 19, at the Robert Boissoneault Oncology Institute (2020 SE 17th St) and will feature spoken word poetry readings and a display of local artist’s works. The reception begins at 6 p.m. with light Hor Douerves, followed by poetry readings at 7 p.m.

For artists interested in sharing writings about cancer experiences, each artist is limited to one or two poems, with a total length no more than 3 to 5 minutes, and is encouraged to create content that is family-friendly. Poetry and art submitted should reflect or incorporate the theme of Resilience as it relates to your cancer/caregiver journey.

This family friendly event is free and open to the public. To attend, please RSVP with Amy K. Roberts via telephone at 352-732-0277, or via email at aroberts@rboi.com.
