Head-banging Ocala man restrained after second domestic battery arrest

Anthony Faulconer

An Ocala man jailed earlier this summer for allegedly body slamming a woman was arrested Sunday after another spat, and this time he had to be restrained in the police car because he wouldn’t stop banging his head against the vehicle’s cage.

Anthony Faulconer, 37, was charged with simple domestic battery after the incident. He previously spent two weeks in the Marion County Jail on the same charge after being arrested July 28.

The witness who called Ocala Police told the responding officer that she and her husband gave the victim a ride back to her residence. When they arrived, Faulconer came out of the home and began arguing with the victim and then pulled her out of the car and shoved her into the side of the vehicle multiple times. The officer tried to speak to the victim, but she was not cooperative, according to the OPD report.

The reportee’s husband, who was the driver of the vehicle, said once Faulconer was done shoving the victim, he reached through the driver’s side window and grabbed him by the back of the neck. The officer observed the man’s neck was red in color, the report said.

Faulconer said there was not a physical altercation. While being taken to jail, he began slamming his head into the patrol car’s cage. The officer pulled over and Faulconer said he would no longer strike his head. After being examined at Ocala Regional Medical Center, he was again transported to jail and he again started to hit his head again. Faulconer was then restrained for his safety during the remainder of the ride, according to the report.

Faulconer was released the following day on his own recognizance and will appear in Marion County Court on Oct. 15.
