The Community Foundation for Ocala/Marion County announced that it will award $1,000 to the nonprofit organization that wins a competition on their Facebook page.
The foundation announced that the award will be given to the organization that accrues the “most mentions” on a specific Facebook post. As of the publication of this story, there are already over 2,000 comments on the post.
The 10-day competition began on October 1 and will continue through October 10. The Community Foundation is providing daily updates on which organizations are in the lead.
The leaderboard includes a wide array of well known, local nonprofits, including Black Nurses Rock, the Marion Military Academy, and Project LIFT, to name a few.
