A Citra man was killed Sunday when his vehicle collided with a crane at the intersection of State Road 326 and NE 25th Avenue.

The driver of this Chevrolet Acadia, Bennie Odeen Price, of Citra, was killed Sunday after running a stop sign on NE 25th Avenue and colliding with a crane driven by Michael Collins, of Edgewater, according to a Florida Highway Patrol Report.

Bennie Odeen Price had been traveling north on NE 25th Avenue around noon when he failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection with State Road 326. Price’s SUV was then struck in the right side by a 2015 Grove Crane, driven by Michael Collins, of Edgewater, a Florida Highway Patrol report states.

A witness reported that medical personnel were performing CPR on Price before he was transported to Ocala Regional Medical Center, where he died as a result of his injures. Collins received minor injuries. It’s unknown if alcohol played a factor in the incident, the report says.
