Sex offender banned from home fails to register new address

Calvosia Lamar Bradley

A registered sex offender who’s not allowed at his listed residence in Reddick after being jailed on a domestic battery charge was arrested Wednesday for failing to register a new address.

Calvosia Lamar Bradley, 57, was convicted in 1988 of sexual battery/coercion by threat and sexual battery/weapon or force and is required to register any change of his permanent, temporary or transient residence with the local sheriff’s office and Department of Motor Vehicles within 48 hours.

Bradley was arrested Sept. 10 after he allegedly battered a woman and dropped her off at Winn-Dixie. As part of his pretrial release agreement of Sept. 13, Bradley is not allowed to return to his residence at 3375 NW 130th Street in Reddick.

Marion County sheriff’s deputies responded to the residence three times in September and again on Wednesday and he wasn’t there. Later Wednesday, they went to his mother’s address at 12375 NW 39th Circle and Bradley answered the door, the report said.

Bradley said he was not allowed to return to his registered address and had been staying at his mother’s address since Sept. 13. He said he didn’t report to the sheriff’s office to reregister for the month of October because he completed a release form at the jail. When asked why he didn’t report to the DMV to register his mother’s address as a temporary address, he said he has had a lot going on and it was a mistake, according to the report.

Bradley was taken to the Marion County Jail, where he was released Thursday on his own recognizance. He’ll appear in Marion County Court on Nov. 5.
