Ocala man with kids in vehicle jailed after fleeing from Marion County sheriff’s deputy

An Ocala man accused of striking a Marion County sheriff’s deputy while fleeing with another adult and small children in his vehicle is behind bars.

A sheriff’s deputy was attempting to speak with 37-year-old Brandon Douglass Buckholz on Oct. 6 regarding a domestic battery when he drove away. He was apprehended a short time later after a vehicle pursuit and foot chase.

Buckholz was charged with two counts of felony child neglect, aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer, fleeing, obstructing without violence, driving with license suspended or revoked and providing false identification to a law enforcement officer. He is due in court Nov. 3 and Nov. 5 to answer to the charges.
