Canine/Pet Halloween Extravaganza coming to Oak Run on Oct 26

The Second Annual Oak Run Canine/Pet Halloween Extravaganza will take place on October 26th starting at 9:00 a.m. at the Oak Run Palm Grove Gymnasium Parking Lot.

During the event, a Halloween pet costume parade will be featured along with many games, prizes, a bake sale, a 50/50 raffle and pet-friendly vendors and informational materials. The costume parade will have an entry fee of $5.00 and is open to the public. Advance entry fee tickets may be purchased on October 12th at the donut drop and pancake breakfast.

For persons outside Oak Run tickets can be purchased at the registration desk the morning of the event. There will be 1st and 2nd place winners and several honorable mentioned for participants in the costume contest/parade. This year the Canine Club obtained authorization to invite residents from OTOW, Cherrywood and Palm Cay to this event. So this will be a great opportunity to meet new people and help out the Humane Society.

The event will also feature a “Clean-Out,” which is an opportunity before the holidays to clean out a few closets, garage or junk drawers. The Humane Society will have a large box truck at the event to collect items/donations. These item will be sold at the Marion County Humane Society Thrift Store. Monies raised from these sales go directly to the Marion County facility. The VOCAL Pet Rescue will also be present and adoptions will take place on site.
