A 61-year-old Silver Springs man is behind bars in the Marion County Jail on 20 counts of possession of child pornography.
Fredric Russell Nourse, who lives at 898 NE 142nd Ave., was taken into custody early Tuesday afternoon at his residence and booked into the jail shortly after 3 p.m. He is being held on $100,000 bond and his next court date hasn’t yet been set.
In April, Marion County sheriff’s detective Shannon Wiles received a tip regarding child pornography where the IP address was located in Silver Springs. Detectives were able to identify the owner of that IP address as Nourse, a sheriff’s office report states.
Nourse allowed detectives to have a forensic examination done on his Samsung Galaxy S9 cell phone. He was taken into custody after a digital forensic technician located multiple images depicting child pornography, which were in a hidden application filing system, the report says, adding that Nourse denied knowledge of the files being on his phone.
