911 operator overhears Reddick man threatening to kill woman

Tommy David Hall

A Reddick man was arrested Saturday night after a 911 operator overheard him threatening to kill the woman who was reporting a domestic disturbance at their residence.

The victim told a Marion County sheriff’s deputy that Tommy David Hall, 56, had been drinking and was verbally abusing her. She said she and a witness went into her bedroom to get away from Hall, and he kept coming in and calling them names and trying to start a fight, according to the sheriff’s office report.

The victim said Hall was belligerent and getting into her face. She said after she told Hall to leave, he made a slicing motion across his neck, pointed at the victim and said, “I’m going to kill you.” The victim and 911 operator both said they heard Hall say, “I will bury you,” the report said.

The witness who was in the room confirmed the victim’s statement. The victim said she is afraid of Hall because this has been an ongoing issue and it went too far that night. She said she is now afraid of what he will do and is concerned for her well-being, according to the report.

Hall admitted he drank a lot earlier in the day, but he denied saying anything to the victim or that he was going to hurt her.

He was charged with simple domestic assault and taken to the Marion County Jail, where he was released Sunday on $1,000 bond. He’ll appear in Marion County Court on Oct. 30.
